Cheeky Little LBC-Only Book Swap | July 4th

Dear LBC friends, I'm hosting a small, casual book swap in the Gulbenkian gardens on July 4th. I'm not looking at this as a proper event; it's more of a chance to catch up with LBC members and swap some books! As always, there'll be an amazing selection of titles to choose from and lots of book chat with fellow readers.

Important info below, so please read carefully 👇🏻

📍WHEN & WHERE

On Friday, July 4th, from 5pm to 7h30pm in the Gulbenkian gardens, in Lisbon. We're meeting by the entrance located in Rua Marquês Sá da Bandeira (the one right across from Under the Cover). It's hard to predict where, exactly, we will seat within the gardens, so try to join us on time!

🌸 YOU MIGHT WANT TO BRING...

• A small blanket or towel to sit on
• Water or a drink, light snacks if you like (sharing is welcome but not at all expected) 
• Sunscreen or a hat, as it might still be bright at 5pm
• And your books, of course!

📚 HOW THE BOOK SWAP WORKS 📚

Participants can bring a maximum of 3 books. You can take home as many books as you bring with you (if you bring 2 you can take home 2, and so on and so forth).

All books must be in English and in good condition.

Please avoid bringing visibly damaged or permanently highlighted/annotated books. Slight signs of use such as yellowed pages or lightly broken spines are perfectly okay, as are pencil annotations.

All books are welcome, but recent releases (from the last 10 years) are especially encouraged. I'm proud of the incredible selection of books we find at each swap!

You'll be assigned a random number once we all sit. We'll have 30ish minutes to browse through the selection and chat, and then the swap process begins.

There are three rounds: Everyone will select 1 book in turn, based on their randomly assigned number. We go through this process three times, until everyone has a maximum of three books.

TWO FINAL REQUESTS

1. Please don't share this with friends outside of LBC or buy more than one ticket.

2. You'll notice attendance to this swap is free. If you save a spot for yourself but later realize you won't be able to make it, please let me know as soon as you can so I can give your spot to someone else. I would love to give as many people as possible the chance to join us!
